1965 Chevrolet Chevelle STK 73 ATL

Despite what you may be reading and seeing on TV, classic Chevelles are priced through the stratosphere, and theyre not all super-rare pieces of exotica that cant be driven. In fact, theyre still some of the best cars to own, drive, and modify, with an incredible network of suppliers to help you build just about any car you can imagine. Done correctly, they make excellent drivers and everyone who knows about cars knows a Chevelle when they see one, making you an instant celebrity wherever you go in one. Theyre still extremely fun cars, just like they were when they were new. On this example the trim is excellent; the chrome is very nice, with a lot of quality reproduction pieces including the simulated vents on the hood which look great. All the emblems, trim, and lenses are in excellent conditionwith a Chevelle, theres just no excuse not to get it right the first time. The glass is in great condition, and the entire car just looks right. The white paint is in good condition and ads a subtle look to this classic. The engine compartment is highly detailed and surprisingly authentic. The radiator hoses are correct with the proper tower hose clamps, and there are decals and stampings throughout that suggest someone did their homework when putting this car together. Theres an Edelbrock 4-barrel nestled under the Moroso air cleaner which sits atop an Edelbrock hi rise manifold. The engine is backed by a tough Power glide transmission for positive action. A 10

Full reviews Actron CP9580 Auto Scanner with CodeConnect Trilingual OBD II, CAN and ABS Scan Tool Good Value – Worked fine with my computerBy KickitagainAlmost wrote this one off after reading the 2 other reviews pointing out pc driver problems. The price was right so I thought I’d give it a try anyway. I needed to identify the ABS trouble codes for my 2002 Explorer and this told me what I needed to know. Was looking at the Equus 3160 but didn’t like the idea of connecting to the PC with a serial port or buying USB converter. I downloaded the Scanning Suite 3.0 software from the Actron website and installed on my VISTA based PC. I connected via the supplied USB cable which also powers the unit. The unit does not load the driver until you request to print data from the handheld menu screen. Note the com port displayed when the driver is loaded the 1st time. Mine was 6. From the scanning suite take the print capture option and set to correct com port. Report data is sent to a print capture screen that can be printed or copied and pasted to another program like MS Word and saved. Tool update feature also appears to work although no updates are currently available. Burn date in the unit was 7/20/10 so it hasn’t sitting on a shelf very long. So far I’m pleased. Make sure your vehicle is compatible before you buy.My ABS code is displayed below. Other data was omitted. Problem hasn’t been fixed yet but I’m going to start by checking the speed sensorDTCs (Codes)C1233 ABS $28Wheel Speed Left Front Input SignalMissingFREQ REPORTED FIX1-Replaced Antilock Brake System (ABS) Control ModuleSee all 57 customer reviews… »» Continue Reading for Actron CP9580 Auto Scanner with CodeConnect Trilingual OBD II, CAN and ABS Scan Tool

Motorcycle Camera Mount Test Run

I made a camera tripod mount for my motorcycle handle bar using a PVC “T” connector cut in half, a threaded end cap, a 1/4″ bolt, and rubber hose for padding all fastened to the bar using hose clamps. I attached my Canon PowerShot SD550 and shot this video of my neighborhood.

The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz

26 May, 2011 (14:49) | Ailey Alvin | By: zalapxa

The Biographical Encyclopedia of JazzThe Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz series was Leonard Feather’s franchise for decades, providing fans with large-format books that featured photos of jazzers and short bios detailing their background and recordings. When Feather passed away in 1994, though, his editorial partner Ira Gitler was left with the task of completing this new edition, then four years in development. It’s much different from Feather’s earlier volumes–The Encyclopedia of Jazz in the 60s, for example–opting for an all-text coverage and a standard-size hardcover, emphasizing perhaps the book’s inarguable value as a reference. For historical purposes, the book is vastly important, giving extremely concise rundowns of musicians’ lives–so concise, in fact, that most multisyllabic words are abbreviated. For contemporary players, though, especially Europeans, the volume is spotty. Trumpeter Joe Morris, who wrote “Punch & Judy” and played throughout the 1940s and ’50s with Johnny Griffin, Elmo Hope, and others is certainly important. But what of the living Joe Morris, who’s not a mainstream player but who nonetheless possesses amazing skills that reach at least as far as his predecessor? And while trumpet virtuoso Michael Philip Mossman is here, where is John Zorn? This isn’t nitpicking on the mainstream so much as it is recognizing that books like Jazz: The Rough Guide have stepped up to address the skimpy coverage of living, thriving musicians.

Having said all that, it’s vital to note Gitler and Feather’s strengths: they’ve canvassed the past thoroughly, reaching to Italy to include reed dynamo Gianluigi Trovesi and pianist Giorgio Gaslini (but not trumpeter Pino Minafra or saxophonist Carlo Actis Dato). They’ve also caught key players from the early 20th century and from the peak bebop and hard bop eras, as well as the 1970s, when the avant-garde and fusion reigned in an oddly shaped jazz world. But these biographies were always Feather’s and Gitler’s strengths, making earlier by-decade editions of the Encyclopedia so important. –Andrew Bartlett , and you can also read customer reviews for The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz at More Information
